Marie Chair

Also known as Louis XV Style Gold Leaf Chair
It is an entirely handmade, carved beech wood masterpiece and production to present the extravagant style and craftsmanship mastery of Art Heritage.
The Chair originally goes back to Belvédère du Petit Trianon music saloon built for Marie on a small artificial hill at Trianon, part of the new “English” garden on the estate.
The chair has now been renovated to a near-original appearance and is ready for display in the new galleries. The furniture of the Louis XV period (1715-1774) is characterized by curved forms, lightness, comfort, and asymmetry; it replaced the more formal, boxlike, and massive furniture of the Style Louis XIV. It employed marquetry, using inlays of exotic woods of different colors.
